Records Management Services (RMS) Requirements Development Project

Records Management Services (RMS)
Requirements Development Project

The RMS Program's first activity was the Requirements Development Project, beginning the week of January 10, 2005, with collaborative sessions of agency Records Management and enterprise architecture stakeholders using interactive GroupSystems technology. Participants came from eighteen cabinet, executive department, and independent agencies and identified and prioritized functional requirements for core Records Management activities that can be supported with service components.

The RMS Program's Requirements Development Project issued its Final Report on March 31, 2005.

The RMS Program hosted a subset of agency participants in follow-on sessions to document the RMS requirements in Use Case notation. Components and requirements were decomposed to a level best suited for industry to review and provide information in response to them. The RMS Program issued its Technical Report "Functional Requirements and Attributes for Records Management in a Component-Based Architecture" on July 20, 2005.
