Golden Spike Ceremony

Golden Spike ceremony; 16-G-99-1-1, Still Picture Records; Photographs and other Graphic Materials; Records of the Office of the Secretary of Agriculture; Record Group 16; National Archives.

On May 10, 1869, in a ceremony at Promontory, Utah, the last rails were laid and the last spike driven, completing the first transcontinental railroad through the United States.
