- Is your classroom a long way from Kansas City?
Use Interactive Distance Learning to make a virtual visit to the National Archives at Kansas City! - Teachers select one of 20 lesson options. Three of the lessons include puppet shows for younger kids, 8 are for intermediate level students (grades 4-6), and seven are for secondary (middle and high school) students. Each is taught by the Education Specialist from the National Archives at Kansas City. Times can be adjusted to fit into a school day or teacher's schedule.
- Using the document camera, students can examine documents,
photos, and 3-dimensional artifacts. This serves as a way to enlarge a document
for easy reading in the classroom. In addition, electronic or hard copies of
most items are available for further use.
- Items shared with the students include: journal entries, correspondence, artifacts, and other documents— Bringing American History to Life!
