National Archives at Kansas City Announces Staff Additions

Kansas City, (MO)…The National Archives at Kansas City is pleased to announce the following staff additions. National Archives staff are charged with the care and maintenance of archival documents and are responsible for ensuring that these materials are preserved and provided to the public.
Pamela Anderson joined the staff as an Archivist. Before coming to the National Archives, Anderson was a Military Analyst at the Center for Army Lessons Learned (CALL) at Fort Leavenworth. During her three and a half years at CALL, Anderson acted as the archivist for the organization in addition to performing all the quality assurance duties for the Digital Library Branch. Prior to working at CALL, Anderson was an assistant archivist at both the Harley-Davidson Corporate Archives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the SC Johnson Corporate Archives in Racine, Wisconsin. She has also worked as the Curator/Caretaker at Old Falls Village in Menomonee Fall, Wisconsin. Anderson has a B.A. in History from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa and a M.A. in History, Specialization in Public History, and Certificate in Museum Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Anderson assumed her duties as of December 6, 2010.
Christopher Magee joined the staff as an Archivist. Previously Magee worked for the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History in Austin, Texas; the H.J. Lutcher Stark Center for Physical Culture and Sport in Austin, Texas; the Heritage and Research Center in Yellowstone National Park; and the Arizona Historical Foundation in Tempe, Arizona. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and American Studies and a Master of Science in Information Studies from the University of Texas. Magee assumed his duties on December 6, 2010.
Robert Newton joined the staff as Assistant Regional Administrator. Prior to his arrival at the National Archives, Newton worked for the United States Trustee Program (USTP), Department of Justice, in Kansas City MO. At USTP, he served as the Regional Administrative Officer for two regions covering seven states. He joined the Department of Justice in April 2007 after serving over 20 years on active duty with the United States Marine Corps where he held various positions in active, reserve, and retired pay personnel and benefits. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in 2005 for his service upon retirement. Newton has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and will complete a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management in October. Newton assumed his duties February 28, 2011.
The National Archives at Kansas City is one of 13 facilities nationwide where the public has access to Federal archival records. It is home to more than 50,000 cubic feet of historical records dating from the 1820s to the 1990s created or received by nearly 100 Federal agencies. Serving the Central Plains Region, the archives holds records from the states of Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The facility is located at 400 West Pershing Road, Kansas City, MO 64108.
