Federal Records Center: Customer Service Standards

Customer Service is the most important element of our business. The Mid Atlantic Region plays a vital role in the mission of NARA through our experience and expertise. We help Federal Agencies to better manage their records, thus helping them to become more efficient.

We provide solutions for the creation and maintenance of an effective records management program. In addition agencies may request additional services based on their specific program needs. We offer clear and user-friendly services, which include:

  • Storage for textual, special media, non-classified and classified records.
  • Retrieval of records to fulfill statutory requirements and conduct daily business.
  • Special projects to respond to sudden shifts in customer workload demands.
  • Expedited response to congressional inquiries, litigation, and urgent business needs.
  • Disposition services to destroy records that have reached their required retention period and to move permanent records into the holdings of the National Archives.
  • Next day pick up and delivery service in the Metro Philadelphia area.

We will commit the resources necessary to ensure that:

  • Requests are serviced in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Records are guarded against inappropriate access.
  • Records are preserved in an environmentally appropriate space for as long as needed.
  • Additional records service needs are addressed in a professional, courteous manner.
