Federal Register to Show Certificates of Ascertainment

ATTN: PHOTO EDITORS AND TV CREWS

WHAT: The Federal Register will place on public inspection the original Certificates of Ascertainment received from the states for the 2000 Presidential election. These Certificates list the names of the electors and the number of votes cast for each person. This is a one-time only opportunity to film the original documents. Photocopies will continue to be available for public inspection at the Federal Register and on the Web (www.archives.gov).

WHO: Michael White, Director of Legal Affairs and the Policy Staff will be available to answer questions, regarding the Certificates.

WHEN: 11 A.M. -12:30 P.M., Monday, December 18, 2000.

WHERE: The Federal Register, 800 N. Capital Street, NW, Suite 700.
