MEMORANDUM TO FEDERAL AGENCY CONTACTS: NARA's Agency Services Bimonthly Records and Information Discussion Group (BRIDG), Wednesday, December 10, 2014.

Please mark your calendars for the next BRIDG meeting scheduled for Wednesday, December 10, 2014 .

The meeting will be held at the National Archives and Records Administration downtown building, 700 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW (Metrorail's Yellow or Green lines to the Archives/Navy Memorial station) in the McGowan Theater. Please enter on the Constitution Avenue side of the building, the "Special Events" entrance (which is actually the exit for the general public).

We will begin with an informal networking hour from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Jefferson Conference Room (mezzanine level). The BRIDG meeting will run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the McGowan Theater (basement level). A Staff Meet and Greet for Appraisal Team 1 agency staff and a Target Audience Analysis Focus Group – conducted by NARA’s National Records Management Training program – will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Jefferson Room (mezzanine level).

Meeting agenda items include the following:

Cindy Smolovik, Supervisor, Records Management Oversight Team will provide a demonstration of the Federal Records and Information Management Maturity Model created by a joint working group of the Federal Record Council and NARA.

Rachel Ban Tonkin, Supervisor, Appraisal Team 1 and Margaret Hawkins, Director, Records Management Services, will present the Expedited Records Schedule Approval Process for clearly temporary records.

David Weinberg, Director, Federal Records Centers Program; Gordon Everett, Director, Customer Relationship Management and Chris Pinkney, Director, Washington National Records Center will have an open dialogue around disposals, trans shipments, and diversions.

Gary Rauchfuss, Director, Records Management Training Program, will talk about the target audience analysis project that will collect data to drive the redesign of the training program.

To reserve a place for the Agency Services-BRIDG meeting, please provide your name, telephone number, and agency name via email to rm.communications@nara.gov, no later than noon on Monday, December 8, 2014. You may reserve places for several staff in the same email, but for security purposes we must have each individual's name, telephone number, and email address.

NARA’s National Training team will host a Target Audience Analysis Focus Group during the regularly scheduled Meet and Greet, on December 10, 2014 (1:15 to 3:00 p.m. in the Jefferson Room), to define the training needs of Agency Records Officers who work with Appraisal Team 1.

We will gather information about your Records Management responsibilities, tasks, motivations and what information is needed to perform your job. After the focus group, there will also be time to meet with your Appraisal Archivist.

The Staff Meet and Greet will provide an opportunity to meet with Appraisal Archivists and the supervisor from Appraisal Team 1, FRC account representatives, textual and electronic records accessioning, declassification and ERA training staff. All agencies listed as part of Team 1 are encouraged to attend this meeting.
