Letters To Mrs. Coretta Scott King

Baseball Commissioner Peter Uberroth was a board member of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission. He wrote a letter on Major League Baseball letterhead to Coretta Scott King informing her that he would not be able to attend a committee meeting, and he assigned his voting proxy to a lawyer. Eventually, the lawyer sent his regrets in a letter to Mrs. King, explaining that the meeting coincided with the World Series.
