An Evening with Governor Deval Patrick

Originally from the south side of Chicago, Deval Patrick moved to Massachusetts at 14, served as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights during Clinton’s presidency then went on to become the first African-American governor of Massachusetts. Patrick currently serves as a Managing Director of Bain Capital Double Impact. He is a Rockefeller Fellow, a Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute, and the author of two books, A Reason to Believe: Lessons from an Improbable Life and Faith in the Dream: A Call to the Nation to Reclaim American Values.

Patrick will be in conversation with Allan J. Katz, U.S. Ambassador to Portugal (2010-2013) and founder of American Public Square, and Colleen McCain Nelson, Vice President/Editorial Page Editor at the Kansas City Star. This program is a Truman Series event presented by the Truman Library Institute, the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum, American Public Square and the Harry S. Truman Center at UMKC.
