In conjunction with our exhibit, “Remembering Vietnam,” we present a panel discussion on the role of the television journalist during the Vietnam War, and how it influenced subsequent conflicts. Participating on the panel will be journalist and former Nightline anchor Ted Koppel; Yasutsune “Tony” Hirashiki, ABC News cameraman (1966–2006) and author of On the Frontlines of the Television War: A Legendary War Cameraman in Vietnam; and Barrie Dunsmore, a journalist who covered foreign affairs for 30 years. Producer and author Terry Irving will moderate the discussion. A book signing will follow the program.

Presented in part by the Lawrence F. O’Brien Family, Pritzker Military Museum & Library, AARP, FedEx Corporation, and the National Archives Foundation. Additional support provided by the Maris S. Cuneo Foundation, The Eliasberg Family Foundation, Inc., and HISTORY.
