History Happy Hour with Dr. Robert Watson

Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum
Independence, MO

Friday, April 20, 2018 - 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. CDT

To kick off our 2018 "History Happy Hour" series, Dr. Watson will join us to discuss his most recent book, The Ghost Ship of Brooklyn: An Untold Story of the American Revolution which tells the shocking story of the bloodiest battle of the entire Revolutionary War. Taking place on a wretched, rotting British prison ship just 100 yards off the coast of Brooklyn, more men died on that floating dungeon than died in combat in the entirety of the long war. Dr. Watson will also provide insight into long-forgotten issues about the Revolution, the real story behind British atrocities during the war, and the eternal dilemma of the mistreatment of POWs.
