Oh Say Can You See: American Art, Propaganda, and the First World War with David Lubin

American artists played an active and sometimes controversial role in helping their countrymen decide whether or not to intervene in the Great War. Join David M. Lubin, author of Grand Illusions: American Art and the First World War, as he explores how patriotism and gender played integral roles in American visual culture as the war “over there” pulled America into its vortex. Cash bar/small plates available. Presented in partnership with the National World War I Museum and Memorial and the Kansas City Art Institute.
