Summer Film Series: "Zootopia"

George Bush Presidential Library and Museum
College Station, TX

Friday, August 16, 2019 - 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. CDT

Registration

In the big city of Zootopia, lives an ambitious rabbit named Judy Hopps, who becomes the first of her kind to join the police force. After being put on parking duty, Hopps yearns to do more to help bring justice to the city. With hopes to prove herself worthy of being a detective, she’s allowed to take on a missing persons case, which forces her to meet and work with Nick Wilde, a fox more sly than one may think. Does she solve the case? “Zootopia” is rated PG, and is an hour and 47 minutes long.

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs as we enjoy this film under the stars. Games and free refreshments (while supplies last) will begin at 7 p.m., and the movie will start just after sundown. You may bring your coolers, but please no pets or glass containers.

This movie is being shown in conjunction with the newest exhibit at the Bush Library and Museum, "Wit and Humor: American Political Cartoons." This exhibit explores how cartoons have changed since the early days of the Republic. Throughout the exhibit, important cartoons from artists regarded as giants in their field, like Thomas Nast and Patrick Oliphant are highlighted. Using symbols, imagery, and humor, cartoonists have played a special role in helping average Americans make sense of tumultuous and complex events we experience in our increasingly connected world. “Wit and Humor: American Political Cartoons" will be on display until January 5, 2020. Don’t miss the opportunity to check out this exhibit.
