What:

Leading experts, advocates and technologists will join the National Archives’ Office of Government Information Services for this special afternoon program. Highlights include:

  • remarks from a champion of freedom of information, Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT);
  • a discussion about how innovation is changing the way government operates and engages the public;
  • reflections on how Congress can use the rising tide of online citizen enagement to inform decision-makers; and
  • a look at the road ahead on open data.

Who:

Speakers include Archivist of the United States, David Ferriero, and Senator Patrick Leahy. We will also hear from innovation leaders from the National Archives, the Library of Congress and the State Department, as well as experts on digital engagement and open data from the Hill, the OpenGov Foundation, Demand Progress, Data Coalition, the Center for Open Data Enterprise, and the Sunlight Foundation.
