Agency Services (A) leads NARA's efforts to service the ongoing records management needs of Federal agencies and to represent the public's interest in the accountability and transparency of these records. Efficient service and effective oversight will be harnessed to this common purpose. This includes:
- The Chief Records Officer (AC) who leads records management throughout the Federal Government and is responsible for issuing Federal records management policy and guidance.
- The Information Security Oversight Office (AISOO), National Declassification Center (ANDC), and Office of Government Information Services (AOGIS) all maintain their independent nature and authority. Even though they report to the Agency Services Executive, they have direct access to the Archivist.
- The Federal Records Center Program (AF) that consists of four units: Operations, National Personnel Records Center, Customer Relationship Management, and Business Development.
