Module 3: Managing Our Government's Information
Page 50 of 128
Introduction to Records
d Three images appear on the screen. The first one shows the record storage cabinets, the second one shows a person keeping records back in the record shelf, and the third one shows a NARA employee checking records in the electronic records storage area.

NARA supports, sustains, and shares adequate documentation of Government activities.  We accomplish this by promoting good recordkeeping practices in all three branches of Government and by providing services that enable them to provide for the "life" of the records for which they are responsible. Accomplishment of our mission depends on a common understanding of the nature of records and their lifecycle.

Select the storybook to read how NARA helped Alice Rose find her birth records.
