The goal of the Information Security Oversight Office (AISOO) is to implement directives, instructions, and regulations regarding Executive Orders concerning classified national security information that are binding on Executive Branch agencies.

AISOO maintains continuous liaison with Federal agency counterparts on all matters relating to the Government-wide security programs.

AISOO develops and disseminates security education materials and deals with complaints and suggestions regarding the Executive Orders from all Federal agency employees. In addition to the reporting given to the President, AISOO collects and analyzes statistics and serves as the Government's spokesperson to Congress and the public on matters related to the security classification program.
