Electronic Records Archives Program
d The Electronic Records Archives Logo.

The Electronic Records Archives (ERA) Program is a strategic initiative by NARA to preserve and provide long-term access to the electronic records of the U.S. Government. The ERA Program became official in the year 2000 and is a comprehensive, systematic, and dynamic means for preserving virtually any kind of electronic record, free from dependence on any specific hardware or software. NARA's main objective in developing ERA is to create a robust, high-quality system that meets the U.S. Government's records management and archival needs.  It is of equal importance to create a system that will be easy for people to use.

For more information about the ERA Program, visit the (Public Link) Electronic Records Archives website.
