The major news media have reported that George W. Bush and Richard B. Cheney will have sufficient electoral votes to be elected President and Vice President for the fifty-fifth term, 2005-2009.
- The electors for the Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates met on December 13, 2004 in each of the States and the District of Columbia to cast their votes for President and Vice President.
- On January 6, 2005, the Congress will meet in joint session to conduct the official tally of electoral votes.
- The Presidential inauguration will take place at noon on January 20, 2005.
