  dcterms:description "RealMedia (RM) is a container that can package RealVideo (RV) and RealAudio (RA). The .RM extension was used for video with or without audio until version 11, when .RV became the default extension. RealVideo is a suite of proprietary streaming video compression formats supported on many platforms. RealVideo was initially released in 1997 by RealNetworks based on the H.264 format, but RealVideo 8 was released in 2000 with several proprietary video codecs. RealVideo has never officially been discontinued, but there are no open specifications for the codecs, it is proprietary, and has cross compatibility issues. There are open source tools available for transcoding and replay. Since the format is proprietary, NARA recommends transforming to AVI for video and combined components, or to MP3 or WAV for audio components." ;
