  dcterms:description "Broadcast Wave (BWF) is an audio format that's designed for file-based non-linear digital recorders. BWF is based on the Microsoft WAV format as chunk-based audio and was developed in 1997 by the European Broadcasting Union with Microsoft and IBM. \"Unspecified\" means that we have not yet identified which version of the format has been found; these files should be treated as if they possess the risks and limitations inherent in any file in the format family. While BWF is still proprietary to Microsoft, the format has an open specification and is an industry standard with open source tools available for transcoding. Therefore, it is recommended to try and identify the version and retain the files as-is. BWF is considered a preferred format per NARA Transfer Guidance. " ;
