It was acquired by Macromedia the same year for integration with its Shockwave brand, and later for use with its Flash Player. Macromedia was acquired by Adobe in 2005 and re-branded as Adobe Flash, which was discontinued in 2020 and no longer supported in modern web browsers. \"Unspecified\" means that we have not yet identified which version of the format has been found; these files should be treated as if they possess the risks and limitations inherent in any file in the format family. Due to its discontinuation and lack of open specifications, it is recommended to transform SWF files to MP4 when possible or to retain as-is if transformation is not available." ;
