  dcterms:description "Canon RAW 3 (CR3) is a raw image format native to Canon digital cameras. Version 3.0 became the standard for all cameras made after 2018, superseding Canon RAW 2 (CR2). Like many camera raw formats, it is proprietary. Raw image files contain unprocessed or minimally processed digital camera image sensor data. While CR2 was based on TIFF, CR3 is based on the ISO Base Media File Format (ISO/IEC 14496-12) with custom tags, and uses the Canon CRX codec. The CRX codec supports both lossless raw and lossy “compact raw” (c-raw) compressions. Processing may occur in the camera or through a raw file converter. Due to the proprietary nature of the format, NARA recommends transforming to Digital Negative Format (DNG) for preservation." ;
