I just wanted to follow up with you about last night's briefing book and 

apologize for the rush and confusion.  I spoke with Heather and Maj. 

Stoner to confirm our current policy of sending the briefing book to the 

house by 10:00 p.m.  They confirmed that the Vice President and Mrs. Gore 

have requested that all deliveries to the house be made by no later than 

10:00 p.m.  which then means that the drivers must leave the White House 

by 9:30 p.m.   



If something is missing from the briefing book, and it is an urgent that 

the Vice President get it that night, it can be faxed to his private study 

or a driver can pick up information in the morning and deliver it to the 

Vice President before he comes into the office.



Further, I apologize that the copy of the briefing  book was not exactly 

the copy the Vice President received.  Your lunch memo and Janet's memo 

were in his copy.



Please let me know if there is anything further I can do in the future to 

ensure that the Vice President has all the materials he needs.  Thank you.
