A few items of interest this morning:



1.  Face the Nation.  I sent you a separate note on that, so as to CC:  Kim 

and Lorraine.  We need to decide this early in the day.



2.  Land Mines.  This issue is heating up again.  It should come up in the 

daily brief with you and POTUS.  Nothing more is appropriate here.



3.  Huang Disclosures.  You saw the various accounts in the paper this 

morning of Chuck Meissner's efforts to keep him involved.  The view around 

here is that the next twist in this story is to Huang's role on "policy" 

matters.



4.  After Inaug - Tues.  The leading idea for a message event on Tuesday 

is to have you and the President come into the Oval mid-afternoon and meet 

with the economic team to review the balanced budget.  You two would then 

go to the DNC to install the new team and hopefully announce some new 

procedures.

that went to the President at 7pm last night -- he may have done some 

overnight edits) in with your materials for the lunch memo.
