Here are a few things going on here today that you need to know about 

before you depart:



1.  Tax Cuts.  This is really heating up internally.  I am going to give 

you a lunch memo addendum this morning.  I think you will want to talk to 

POTUS about this today, on several fronts.



2.  IRS.  The GOP has its bill send-off rally, which they may use to 

launch their tax cut plan, at about 2:30 pm today.  POTUS will likely sign 

the bill tomorrow.  If the GOP makes its event about tax cuts, POTUS will 

make the signing about SS first.



3.  Tobacco.  Hatch/Feinstein meet with Conrad today.  Hatch's staff has 

been in here alot with Bruce and Elena.  We'll see where this winds up.



4.  USEC.  This seems to be going forward.  The House & Senate have passed 

legislation to bail-out Ohio (Strickland's bill); this will probably also 

come down here and get signed while you are gone.  Leon is still working 

the national security side of the equation -- it is not clear how much 

lift there will be for the Russia HEU bail-out.



5.  MFN.  This is likely to pass the House tomorrow, FYI.
