I will talk to Kay.  I know that the briefing book memos getting in to 

your office on time is somewhat out of the your control, but I do think we 

need to get staff on board about getting there memos, speeches, talking 

points, etc into the briefing book on time (even if it is a draft copy).   

This would be very helpful to the VP.  What do you think?

I talked to Eric who put together the book the last night. I don't think 

there was anything particulalry unusual about last night.  As I understand 

it, the first two memos come from NSA (and you know we always stay out of 

that), the Satellite conference call should have been in the book, the 

Phone Call memos is on its way over, the Lunch memo was in there leaving 

the two memos for tonight still missing.  I believe the two evening memos 

should get there in about an hour.   I am talking to the two evening memo 

authors now about the problem but you should say something to them as they 

bring over their memos as well.

Do you know what happened last night with he book?  Only two briefings 

made it into the book last night and we are missing five briefings.  I 

know that you can not control the fact that people do not get their 

briefings in on time, but we need to do something about this.  Do you have 

any ideas on what we can do to put the fear in people about getting their 

briefings in?  The VP does not have time in his schedule to read briefings 

all day long.
