Subject:	Ron's Absence

Ron will be out of the office starting late Thursday afternoon, and will

return on Tuesday afternoon. Debbie will have a number where I can be

reached. As for coverage in my absence, let me suggest the following:

1. Erskine's meeting, 7:45 am, on Friday, Monday, and Tuesday: David,

you should attend, unless you cannot, in which case, Lorraine has

expressed a willingness to attend.

2. OVP Pol/Sched/Comm Meeting, 9am, on Friday and Monday: I would cancel

Friday's, but urge you to have one on Monday to plan for the week ahead.

3. OVP Sr Staff, 9:30am, Friday, Monday, and Tuesday: Again, David

should lead these meetings, unless he cannot, in which case, Lorraine

should chair. Note that Friday's meeting is for Scheduling Planning.

4. POTUS-VP Lunch, mid-day, Tuesday, 2/25: David, you should assemble a

memo for that lunch which includes any items that you, Karen Skelton,

Katie McGinty, Greg Simon, Elaine Kamarck, or Kumiki Gibson might have.

It needs to be to the briefers by 9:15pm, on Monday night. You might want

to remind folks at the Friday senior staff meeting to provide

submissions.

5. General Coverage; You should have Debbie check in each morning with

Erskine's office to see what meetings need coverage, and then should

attend or send representatives accordingly. Make sure that Lorraine or

Ginny attend all communications meetings, Karen Skelton all political

meetings, and Charles Burson all "scandal" meetings.

That should be about it. Thanks!
