We need to discuss this with Kim.  Additionally, we need to discuss 

whether or not to bring in 6 or 8 House/Senate folks to talk about the 

State Dept/AID/USIA issue -- the VP is agreeable to doing this, but I want 

to be sure that Leon, Elaine and Goody (& Pat?) agree. That would probably 

have to happen toward the end of the week -- right, Elaine?

Need your help to get some time to brief VP on what happened on the 

Telecomm bill and to have him call Daschle, Hollings and Pressler on 

Monday. Ricchetti strongly feels VP has to have reality check from those 

guys before he gets completely ahead of the Dems and the hill on what the 

product will be.  I will also provide a memo for VP-POTUS lunch on Monday 

but he will be a cat on a hot tin roof until he knows what his role is on 

telecomm from here.  We will preent him a more detasiled strategy outline 

at the Tues breakfast.

Any thoughts?
