Senior Agency Officials for Records Management

Senior Agency Officials for Records Management (SAORMs) act on behalf of the agency head to ensure the agency efficiently and appropriately complies with all applicable records management statutes, regulations, NARA policy, and OMB policy. The SAORM bridges the gap between the agency head and the Records Officer in order to provide strategic direction for the agency’s records management program.

The SAORM Specific Resources below include: the SAORM Bulletin which clarifies the roles and responsibilities of the SAORM; the SAORM List which is arranged alphabetically by agency and thereunder by sub-agency; and the SAORM Reporting which includes PDF versions of the submitted SAORM annual reports and a NARA produced summary of all received reports for a given year. Please send any SAORM List updates or any questions to PRMD@nara.gov.
