MEMORANDUM TO FEDERAL AGENCY RECORDS CONTACTS: RM Communications and FRC Communications to move to GSA-hosted Listserv
The email lists currently used by NARA's Modern Records Programs and Federal Records Centers Program, RM Communications and FRC Communications, will soon be moving to a new server run by the General Services Administration. These lists are used to convey to agency customers important updates such as information on meetings and classes, changes in policies and guidance, and new service offerings.
The change will be largely invisible to you as a subscriber. Messages will still come to you from either the RM.Communications@nara.gov or FRC.Communications@nara.gov e-mail accounts. The list will be "broadcast only", meaning that the list is a newsletter and members of the list cannot respond to other list members. These lists will still be archived (RM Communications at http://www.archives.gov/records-mgmt/policy/memos-to-agency-records-officers.html, FRC Communications at http://www.archives.gov/frc/communications-archives). Replies to messages and requests to add, change, or remove members from either list will still be handled through the RM.Communications@nara.gov mailbox.
In order to ensure that messages sent from the new server reach your email account and are not blocked by your agency's spam filter, please take a moment to add the domain "listserv.gsa.gov" to your "safe" list. Please contact your agency's IT staff if you need assistance in unblocking this domain.
If you have any questions about the new list, please email RM.Communications@nara.gov.
