MEMORANDUM TO FEDERAL AGENCY RECORDS CONTACTS: Records Administration Conference, RACO 2009, and Archivist Achievement Awards
I am pleased to announce that the 21st Annual Records Administration Conference (RACO 2009) will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in downtown Washington D.C. The theme of this year's conference is Collaborating Across Boundaries: Government Records and Social Media and the presentations will focus on the use of Web 2.0 and other collaboration software by the Federal government and the records management issues associated with these products.
To register for RACO 2009, please visit NARA's LearnCenter at https://nara.learn.com/recordsmanagement-training/
Also at RACO 2009, NARA will again recognize outstanding achievements in Federal records management with the Archivist's Achievement Awards. These awards recognize outstanding Federal records management programs or activities.
To assist NARA in identifying noteworthy nominees, please submit nominations that you think represent outstanding records management activities. Award selections are made based on evaluations of the nominations received. You may nominate any Federal entity deserving of special recognition, including your own agency.
Please submit your nomination directly to NARA and provide: the name of the agency and/or program being nominated; an agency contact; a brief description of the agency's achievement in records management; documentation that supports your nomination; and your name, telephone number, address, and e-mail address.
We must receive all nominations no later than March 31, 2009. Nominations may be submitted by mail, fax, or e-mail to RM Communications, NARA, Modern Records Programs (NWM) Room 2100, 8601 Adelphi Road, College Park, MD 20740, by fax to 301-837-3697, or by e-mail to RM.Communications@nara.gov
