National Archives Celebrates the 100th Birthday Anniversary of Lady Bird Johnson

Washington, DC…On Thursday, December 6, at 7 PM, the National Archives pays tribute to the enduring legacy of Lady Bird Johnson in celebration of her 100th birthday anniversary with a special panel discussion, book talk, and program. Audio recordings from the Lady Bird Johnson Oral History Project will be played.

Mark Updegrove, director of the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library, moderates an expert panel to discuss the former First Lady’s achievements and contributions. The panel includes the Johnsons’ daughter Lynda Johnson Robb; political analyst Cokie Roberts; former White House Social Secretary Bess Abell; and Michael L. Gillette, author of Lady Bird Johnson, An Oral History. A book signing will follow the program. The program is presented in partnership with the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library and the National Archives Presidential Materials Division.

This public program is free and open to the public. It will be held in the William G. McGowan Theater of the National Archives Building in Washington, DC. Attendees should use the Special Events entrance on Constitution Avenue at 7th Street, NW.
