Federal Career Intern Program

The Federal Career Intern Program is an entry-level employment and career development program designed to recruit outstanding individuals to positions at the GS-5, 7, and 9 levels.

As a career intern, you will participate in a two-year professional development program that will enhance both your technical and leadership skills, and develop your potential for future advancement. Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible for placement in a permanent position.

You don't need to be a student to qualify for these positions! The Federal Career Intern Program is also open to recent graduate and other entry-level professionals.

IT Specialist (Applications Software) (3 positions)

  • Assisting in the analysis and review of the technical feasibility of software system user requirements and their suitability for integration within NARA’s existing or planned enterprise architecture.
  • Assist in software applications projects that may be implemented as NARA-wide or office specific systems.
  • Assist in designing user interfaces; and in assuring software and systems quality and functionality
  • Assist in identifying changes to be recommended in existing applications and/or new directions and emphases necessary to solve NARA's software application needs and priorities.
