After Anthony’s arrest, there was a hearing to determine if she had, in fact, broken
the law. Anthony’s testimony begins approximately two-thirds down the page under “Defts. [abbreviation for Defendant’s] Case.” When asked by her lawyer John
Van Voorhis if she had any doubt of her right to vote, she replied, “not a particle.”

The witnesses against Anthony at the hearing were a male complainant who
witnessed the vote and the three male election inspectors who accepted her ballot.
