$20,731 to digitize the papers of George S. Messersmith, U.S. diplomat and envoy. Between 1914 and 1947, Messersmith held ten different diplomatic posts on three continents, including service as American ambassador to Cuba, Mexico, and Argentina. (RD10046-10)

Hagley Museum and Library, Wilmington, DE
$62,485 for the Industrial Design Collection Processing Project, to process three collections documenting the national impact of three leading industrial design firms. The Wear-Ever/Kensington Ware Collection (1922-1965), the Thomas Lamb Papers (1920-1980), and the Marc Harrison Papers (1922-1996) total 62 cubic feet of personal papers and 1,989 oversized design drawings.
