Supreme Court Nominee John G. Roberts, Jr.

  • On September 14, fourteen pages (in whole and in part) of records from Record Group 60: Department of Justice were released. These records relate to John G. Roberts’ tenure as Special Assistant to the Attorney General in 1981-82. Read the press release.

  • Approximately 1,328 pages of material from Record Group 60: Records of the Department of Justice, Files of the Attorney General, William French Smith, 1981-1985 were released September 3. Read the press release.

  • Ten documents that total 93 pages from Record Group 60, Records of the Department of Justice, Files of William Bradford Reynolds were released on September 2 and are available on our web site. Read the press release.

  • The Ronald Reagan Library released approximately 18,000 pages of materials from the White House Office of Records Management Subject case files on September 2. Read the press release.

  • On August 31, the Ronald Reagan Library released an additional 417 pages from its re-review of their records related to John Roberts that were restricted from release on August 18, 2005. Of the pages in this release, 341 pages are being released in part and 79 pages are being released in their entirety. Read the press release.

  • On August 29, the George Bush Library opened 47 pages relating to John Roberts from the records of the White House Office of Records Management, the White House Counsel’s Office, and the Office of Presidential Personnel. Of the 47 pages, 33 pages will be opened in their entirety and 14 pages will be opened in part.

  • On August 29, the Ronald Reagan Library released an additional 175 pages from its re-review of the John Roberts’ records restricted from release on August 15, 2005. These records are available at the library and on our web site.

  • Seventeen documents relating to Supreme Court nominee John Roberts from Record Group 60: Records of the Department of Justice, Files of Carolyn B. Kuhl were released on August 29, 2005.

  • The Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California is reviewing previously unprocessed materials from the John G. Roberts Files, 1982-1986 and from the White House Office of Records Management: Subject File. Approximately 50,000 pages of material have been located.
