Established: In the Department of the Interior by Secretarial Order 3071,
under the authority provided by section 2 of Reorganization Plan of 1950,
January 19, 1982.
Functions: Manages the mineral resources of the Outer Continental Shelf
in an environmentally sound and safe manner. Collects, verifies,
and distributes mineral revenues from federal and Indian lands.
