Theoretical physicist Edward Teller, who would later be known as "the father of the hydrogen bomb," wrote this letter on September 18,1944 recommending the services of Mr. Wilkins for a new position. Mr. Wilkins was an African American mathematician who could no longer work with his team because they were moving to Oak Ridge, Tennessee - site "X." |
