With swiftness uncommon by today's standards, Congress appropriated funds for the Widows Creek Steam Plant on March 28, 1950 in response to increasing demand by the Atomic Energy Commission. Construction began the same day, and the plant was finished on schedule in 1954. This booklet describing the amazing feat is a dedication to all those who made it happen.
