Relief After The 1937 Flood

The Ohio River flooded in January 1937, causing considerable damage from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Cairo, Illinois. The Tennessee Valley Authority provided assistance to the flood relief efforts in Paducah, Kentucky and Memphis, Tennessee. The records selected are an excerpt from the daily log of T.B. Parker, TVA's Chief Engineer.
