Use Of Fertilizer

One of the original tasks charged to the Tennessee Valley Authority was to provide for the agricultural development of the region. So, using phosphate and lime, TVA produced fertilizer that enriched the valley's depleted soils. This unidentified farm was part of the Test Demonstration Farm project through which TVA distributed fertilizer to private farmers as a way to demonstrate the "plant food's" benefits.
