Differences In Displacement

While the root problem – relocation – remained the same regardless of the dam project, residents of each location faced their own unique challenges. For example, in the Guntersville Reservoir area, families were displaced not only by the building of the dam, but also by planters releasing long term share-croppers and tenants in favor of day laborers.
