Lewis Hine Photographs Of TVA Work By CCC

Sociologist and photographer Lewis Hine accepted an assignment to document the TVA construction of Norris Dam in 1933. These images from November 17, 1933 show CCC workers at camps designated TVA #22 and TVA #23 along the Clinch River in Tennessee. Routine CCC activities captured in these photographs include receiving instructions, obtaining supplies, eating lunch, and erecting tents for living quarters.
