Women At The Augusta Arsenal

During World War II, the Augusta Arsenal in Augusta, GA employed over 1000 people, many of them female workers who performed a variety of critical war-supporting jobs. In the first photo, a woman is working on the wooden stock for an M1 Garand rifle. In the second, women are testing trench binoculars.
