May Day Investigation

This once confidential memo was sent from the Third Army headquarters in Ft. McPherson, Georgia, to select commanding officers. Headquarters warned its officers of planned May Day celebrations by communist groups who would potentially target U.S. military personnel to participate. Headquarters admonished its officers to discourage participation by current or former Army personnel.
