Subversive Activities

The Holston Ordnance Works in Kingsport, Tennessee received several memoranda from Third Army Headquarters regarding potential subversive activities that could threaten their operations. One of these documents quoted a letter that was circulated through the mail intending to "poison the minds of would be draftees and volunteers for military service." Another memo called attention to the activities of the Labor Youth League, a Communist-affiliated organization.
