Refugees

During the late 1970's and early 1980's there was a worldwide refugee crisis as millions of people fled political oppression, war, and natural disasters. This large-scale migration emanated primarily from Indochina, Africa, and the Caribbean. The CDC mustered its resources to evaluate and treat the multitude of health issues that confronted the refugees whether they were living in temporary camps overseas or resided in the United States.
