Corps Of Engineers Expenditures

The Army Corps of Engineers, an organization which specializes in waterway maintenance and improvement, was given the additional task of military construction during the war. An overview of the Wilmington (NC) District's budget in June 1944 shows their active projects, the last of which called for the development of landing areas for the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA).
