Hydro and Steam Power
The Tennessee Valley region offers unique and abundant natural resources that were ripe for harvesting when TVA set out to accomplish its goals. Two of these resources, found in the region's seemingly endless river systems and fossil fuel deposits, yielded hydroelectric and steam energy. Harnessing this energy for electricity throughout the region presented immense challenges and benefits.
